Inventive is really in to "high-tech" stuff, and likes to see these things first-hand. Generally, she can't as there are certain parties that do not wish for others to see these things while they are still in their beginning stages. If it is something that she absolutely needs to see, she will break in and check it out for herself, though she is a bit reluctant to do so.

Occasionally, there are less legitimate and more hostile organizations that will produce or procure their own technology, and Inventive will barely think twice when it comes to these items. Of course, these bouts can be more dangerous, as you can never be sure what these factions might have their hands on.

It seems that in this adventure, she has been discovered by those who she wishes to steal from. She has been captured, and tied up as her captors discuss how best to deal with this situation, or maybe they are just leaving her there as they are more focused on whatever it is they have. Lucky for her, it appears that they have left her sword within a reasonable distance, and perhaps she can use it to free herself from her bonds before they come back to deal with her.
